Robin Regni of Vestal, age 62, died on July 27, 2021, at Vestal Park Nursing Home in Vestal. She fought a courageous battle against Multiple Sclerosis, cancer and mental illness and will always be remembered for her smile, spunk, and laughter.
Robin is survived by her mother, Irene Sheptak Regni, who devotedly cared for Robin when she became ill. She is survived by her sister, Lynne Sherman (Timothy), sister, Kim Ingraham, and brother, Mark Regni. She is also survived by her nieces, Jennifer Richards and Jessica Regni, and nephews, Michael Richards, Timothy Sherman, and Jordan Friedman. Although she never had children of her own, she also adored great-niece Jazzmine Bowman (and her two children) and her six great-nephews.
She graduated from Binghamton High School and from Broome Community College as a dental hygienist. She traveled, ran in marathons, and love to bake banana and pumpkin cheesecake. Her fondest memories were of spending time with her favorite niece, Jennifer- shopping, dancing, baking and especially the Michael Jackson and Prince concerts. She was so happy that Jennifer drove from South Carolina two weeks ago for a surprise visit.
Thanks to the staff at Vestal Park Nursing for taking care of Robin for more than fifteen years-she will always be remembered whenever Tom Cruise or Michael Jackson are mentioned, and she'd always giggle when staff called her by her childhood nickname "Boo-Boo". Special thanks to great-niece Jazzmine Bowman for being her devoted caretaker-both as an aide at the nursing home and all the extra hours sitting with Robin at night-and for bringing joy to her final days.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements by the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home.
Instead of flowers, please consider performing random acts of kindness in Robin's honor- pay for a stranger's cup of coffee, bake some cookies for an elderly neighbor, donate to your favorite cause, and phone your friends and family and tell them you love them.
