Graveside Services

Graveside Services

Families will sometimes opt for a graveside service for their deceased loved one. At the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, we understand a need for simplicity, but we also recognize the reality of the burial/entombment/inurnment of the physical remains of the deceased as a final act. Again, the gravesite will provide a physical place for the next-of-kin and survivors to visit in the future as they adjust to the death of their loved one.

We recommend that you take some time to create a graveside service that will honor your loved one. Whether you would like the celebrant to be from the church where the deceased was a member or another person to chant or read a service or say words, military honors, if applicable, playing and/or singing of song(s) that assist the survivors to remember the deceased. The graveside service may also include the releasing of balloons to represent the spirit lifting to heaven or butterflies to show a rebirth of spirit, or one of the many other options that would create a unique experience, we would be honored to assist you in fulfilling your wishes.
