Mary Ann (Baycura) Lester, 85 fell asleep in the Lord on Friday evening, July 2, 2021 at the Mercy House of the Southern Tier.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Lester, her parents, John and Anna Baycura her brothers, John, Donald, and Edward, and a nephew, Peter Baycura.
Mary Ann is survived by her son, Daniel (Norma) Lester, of Greene, her daughter, Diane (Gerald) Waid of California, MD, grandchildren Carisa Lester, Aubrey French, Daniel Lester II of Greene and Christopher (Rai) Tokuhisa Waid of Columbus, OH, Nicole (Tyler) Kutz of Vestal, great grandchildren, Nicholas, Dylan, Annastasia, Alice, Greyson, step grandsons, Joseph and Robert Cronin, and a great great granddaughter, Casie Lynne, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was a graduate of Binghamton Central and C. S. Wilson School of Nursing class of 1957. She was a retired registered nurse for Wilson Hospital after forty-five years.
She was a member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church.
A funeral service will be offered by Very Rev Protopresbyter James Dutko on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 10 am at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton where the family will receive friends 9am until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary Ann's memory to either the Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760 or the American Cancer Society.
