Sarah "Sally" Clarke Fenson, 94, Endwell, NY
After a sudden stroke and the related battle, she now is welcomed into heaven on April 2, 2021. Predeceased by her parents Edgar M. and Bertie J. Clarke, her sister Frances Thomas (and John), Sister-in-law Nina Keane (and John). She is survived by Harry, her loving husband of over 70 years, her five children: Stephen (Geri), Frances (Art), Charles, Douglas (Lori), William; and nine grandchildren: Jonathan (Megan), Marissa (Justin), Michael (Jen), Nathan (Liz), Alexander (Amanda), Kristen (Brent), Lee, Claire (Fred), Hannah (Dan), fourteen great grandchildren, two nieces Anne and Margaret (Chris) and one nephew John (Leia). She was born May 12, 1926 in Newburgh, NY. During her youth she lived and worked on the family apple, peach, cherry and plum farm in Milton, NY. She completed a B.A. degree in political science from Mount Holyoke College, 1947 and M. A. T. in Social Studies at Binghamton University, 1975. She was a Girl Scout executive at the Binghamton office and director of camp Amahami. She wrote a research paper on the survival of lakes that initiated significant improvements to Oquaga Lake, Deposit, NY. A self-taught carpenter that built outbuildings (from foundation to roof), closets, converting office space into apartments including precision door hanging (200+ new doors). She enjoyed gardening, house plants, photography club, bridge clubs, upholstery, book club, especially family and friends. She sewed from patterns: suit coats, bathrobes, aprons, and curtains. She also did the bookkeeping and taxes for the family real estate business for 50 years right up to the last days. Mom and Dad started traveling with a honeymoon cruise to Bermuda then many family trips to visit our extended family and friends around the country, abroad, and then later with Elder/Interhostel and tour groups. A celebration of life service will be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 711 Farm-to-Market Road, Endwell, on April 10 at 10am.
