Joseph M. Tkach 58 of Johnson City fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday evening at Wilson Hospital.
He was predeceased by his parents Ferdinand and Grace Tkach and his sister, Laura Tkach.
He is survived by his loving wife Barbara Tkach of Johnson City and their children, Jack (Nancy) Pook, Nancy Pook, Cory (Valerie) Pook, Dawn Pook, Justin Pook, and Donnina Jones, eight grandchildren, his brother, John Tkach of Johnson City; nephews Alexander (Kelsey) Tkach and Nicholas Tkach.
Joe was a kind and gentle person, who enjoyed classical music, dogs, playing video games, and watching Star Trek and the History Channel.
He was an employee of Tioga Downs and Binghamton Price Chopper.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1pm until the time of Joe's memorial service at 2pm at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton with Rev. David Snitchler officiating.
