Helen Wiskowski Klysh, 87, peacefully passed away on January 10, 2021 at Willow Point Nursing Home due to complications of COPD.
She was predeceased by her husband of sixty-five years, Theodore Klysh in 2018, her parents Petor Wiskowski and Helen Jurczak, brothers, Joseph Wiskowski and Peter (Jeanne) Wiskowski, brother-in-law Cypryan (Margaret) Klish and sisters-in-law, Emelia, Pani Lillian Klysh and Mary (Bill) Chebiniak.
She is survived by three loving daughters and their spouses; Kathleen Klysh and Michael Pecka, Carol and Peter Sosenko and Jo Ann and Gary Drayton. Grandchildren; Peter J. Sosenko, Stacey Daniels, Aimee Sosenko, and Matthew and Mark Drayton, Great granddaughter, Theodora Daniels. Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Evelyn Wiskowski, Rev. Mirone Klysh, William (Mary Ann) Klish, Lesia Klysh, and Nancy (Nicholas) Tarcha and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was an active member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, now the Church of the Holy Trinity, as a member and officer of the Mother's Club and its Holy Rosary Society. She was a member of the Johnson City Ladies of Columbus, playing golf and bowling in their leagues for many years, and serving food and making coleslaw for their bingo, turkey raffles and chicken barbeques.
She was a former employee of Ansco and retired from the International Money Management Department at Marine Midland Bank, Binghamton.
She will be remembered for her wit and sense of humor. Helen enjoyed the annual piorgi and city chicken family get togethers, dancing polkas with her late husband, supporting her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and plays, doing crossword puzzles, crafts (cross stitch, crocheting and knitting) and having a cold Coors.
Helen was affectionately called "Nina" by her loving grandchildren. Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend- you will be greatly missed by all. We love you and God Bless You!
A Funeral Mass will be offered by Msgr. John P. Putano on Saturday at 10am at Church of the Holy Trinity, 346 Prospect Street, Binghamton where the family will receive friends from 9-10am. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, consider contributing to either the American Lung Association, 21 W 38th Street #3, New York, New York 10018, or to the Social Activities Fund at the Willow Point Nursing Home, 3700 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
