Frank Kostun Jr, 84, fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at his home with his family.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Rhonda Ely; two brothers Gregory and John Kostun; and his sister Olga Kozak.
Frank is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Kostun; his daughter, Shari Blass and his soon to be son-in-law, Michael Guokas; his grandson who was also his best friend, Dominic (Caitlin) Kostun; granddaughters, Danica Rebich (Erik Engrissei), Teagan Blass and Brynn Blass; great-grandchildren, McKennah, Marleigh and Madigan Kostun, and Elliana Engrissei. Also surviving are his many nephews and nieces.
Frank’s family was most important to him. The legacy he leaves is one of love, support, wisdom, character, and faith. Caring for people was Frank’s greatest gift. Truly a man of honor, he was always devoted to his family, helping them, and teaching them life’s most valuable lessons. He was there to help his friends and community, and to serve his country. He sacrificed unselfishly when he was called to serve in the U.S. Army, and throughout his life by paying forward acts of kindness and generosity. He passed these values on to his daughters and to his grandchildren, especially to his grandson, Dominic, who will proudly carry on his grandpa’s name and to Danica, Teagan & Brynn who will build on the foundation of grace that our Dad/ Grandpa worked hard to establish in all of us.
Frank was a retired employee of the Vail-Ballou Publishing Company formerly in Kirkwood, and a proud Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Family and Friends are invited to gather at The American Legion Post 1645, 177 Robinson St., Binghamton, NY, on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 11:30am - 1:30pm to Celebrate an Honorable Life, and to enjoy light refreshments.
