Margaret (nee Dacey) Heckman 97, fell asleep in the Lord on Monday evening, August 5, 2024, at the Willow Point Nursing Home.
She was predeceased by her husband Hugh Heckman, her daughter Marsha Heckman Garceau, her brother William Dacey and her sister, Ella Dacey.
Marge is survived by a son Richard A. Heckman of Northglenn, CO, two grandsons, Ian (Sarah) Heckman of NC and Jacob Heckman of CO, her great grandson Avery Heckman of NC, and her many friends.
She was an active member and benefactor of St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, working at their various holupki and pirohi sales and underwriting broadcasts of church services, raffle tickets and church children’s programs. Marge was an original Binghamton Mets season ticket owner and avid fan who was recognized at one of their games for her dedicated support. She was a retired salesperson of The Watermelon Seed and Fowler's Department Store.She was also a member of the Order of the Amaranth.
A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by the Very Rev. Protopresbyter James Dutko on Tueesday at 10am at St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, 292 Clinton Street. Binghamton where her family will receive friends from 9am to 10am. The burial will be in the parish cemetery.
