Pavel Komanicky, M.D. passed away on August 5, 2024, at UHS Binghamton.
He was born on June 28, 1943, in Chvastejov, in the former settlement of Habura, near Medzilaborce, Czechoslovakia as the second-born son of parents Stefan and Maria Komanicky. He grew up in beautiful nature with three siblings Mikulas, Maria and Helena.
After successfully completing elementary school and high school, he began studying at the Medical Faculty of the University of Pavol Jozef Safarik in Košice. He successfully completed it in 1966.
In 1969, he left for his family in the USA, where he decided to stay to further develop his studies in internal medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine in the years 1970-1973 at Steward Carney Hospital in Boston.
From 1973 to the present, he worked as an assistant and doctor at several university hospitals in Boston, Texas, Detroit, and Binghamton. He published his knowledge in several medical publications and articles.
He was very popular with his patients, known for his warmth and kindness.
In recent years, he struggled with several health problems, but despite this handicap, he still worked in the medical environment as an expert, performing consulting work in the field of internal medicine, endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism.
He dedicated his whole life to his profession and helping others.
He is survived by two sisters Maria Ferencova and Helena Vladykova and their families in Slovakia as well as other relatives in the United States of America.

Following his final wishes his remains were prepared by William Scheider with the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, Binghamton and returned for burial on September 5, 2024, at the Habura Cemetery in Habura. Slovakia
