Marlyn L. Klish

Marlyn Lou Klish, 70, fell asleep in the Lord on Friday, January 10, 2025. She is predeceased by her beloved parents, Margaret and Cypryan T. Klish, and her grandparents Theodore and Emilia Klysh and LaDorna and Peter Dapolito as well as several cherished Aunts and Uncles. She is survived by her siblings: Melanie Klish, Cypryan Klish II, Jonathan Klish (KimLan), Miranda Klish-Karn, (Don), Mindy Klish (Randy), Melinda Holicky (Bob), and Melissa Dino (Eric). Also treasured nieces and nephews Cypryan Klish III (Christine), Andrew Klish, Jennifer Payne (Chris), Jonathan Klish (Melissa), Anthony Klish (Amanda), Eli Holicky, Ben Holicky, Jackson Dino, Ella Dino and great nieces Claire, Ava, Brianna and Cameron.

She is also survived by her very special Aunts and Uncles: Fr. Mirone Klysh (her Godfather), Nicholas and Nancy Tarcha (her Godmother), William and Mary Ann Klish, and many dear cousins.

Marlyn was a member of St. John Ukrainian Orthodox Church including the choir and St. Mary's Sisterhood. She cherished her Ukrainian heritage and loved the church festivals and food. She was employed by Achieve, retiring in 2017.

She was a very talented artist and loved to draw and write.  One of her drawings was displayed at the Smithsonian as part of an exhibition of art made by people with special needs. Mar had an amazing memory! She never forgot a name, address, or phone number. She knew what kind of car you drove, its license plate number, and of course, your favorite radio station. She knew every DJ and religiously listened to WENE and WMRV for years. Her favorite color was pink and she loved roses and balloons.

Marlyn was pure light and love.  She taught us so much about compassion and acceptance.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 17, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1 St. John Parkway, Johnson City with Fr. Ivan Synevskyy at 10:30 am. Visitation will occur before the service from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Please wear “happy” colors in her memory.
