John A. Bochnovich, 83, fell asleep in the Lord on Friday, March 7, 2025, in Elmira, NY.  John was born in Carbondale, PA and spent his early years in Johnson City, NY.  John was the son of John Bochnovich and Pauline (Kelechawa) Bochnovich.  After graduating from Johnson City High School in 1959, he went on to study at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harpur College.  John was an avid reader and had a brilliant and inquiring mind.  He possessed a special interest in space exploration and wrote a manuscript entitled, “Towards a New Theory of Astronomy for Spaceflight, (Astronautics) through Common Sense” based on his extensive research.  He is survived by a sister, Barbara (Bochnovich) Schell and her husband Clifford Schell of Madison, WI, nephew Timothy, niece Melanie as well as cousins in PA and NY. 

A private service was held at the convenience of the family through the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, Binghamton.  Donations may be made in John's name to a charity of the donor's choice.
