John S. Wojtowitz, a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, May 19, 2025, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City. He was 78 years old.

Born to a family that cherished him deeply, John's life was marked by a profound sense of duty, camaraderie, and love. He spent 56 years in a loving marriage with his devoted wife, Marijane (nee Ostrom) Wojtowitz. He shared a strong bond with his son, James, his daughter-in-law, Cléa, and adored his granddaughter, Victoria. The joy he found in their company was immeasurable. John is survived by all of them.

John's professional journey was equally impressive. He was the Vice-President of the Thomson Insurance Agency, having entered the business in 1978. Contributions extended beyond his office walls as he served as a Past President, Past Treasurer, and prominent member of the Johnson City Rotary Club for ˜50 years. His dedication was recognized with the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow Award. John was also a dedicated member of the Binghamton Philharmonic for ˜47 years where he served as the librarian for a decade.

John's passions were as varied as his accomplishments. He played the violin with a grace that echoed his soulful nature and enjoyed the strategic challenge of golf, playing in the YMCA / TGIF golf league for ˜48 years. His love for personal relationships was evident in the deep connections he maintained with friends and clients over the years.

John's legacy is one of integrity, dedication, and warmth. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
