Robert T. Wartonick, Maj. Army Reserve Ret., formerly of Vestal, fell asleep In the Lord on Thursday morning, September 25, 2025 at the Rosewood Village at Charlottesville, VA.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ann Wartonick of fifty-five years.
He is survived by two daughters, Susanne (Steven) Harris of Holly Springs, NC and Cathy Deane of Barboursville, VA; three grandchildren, Jenna and Christian Pokerwinski and Andrew Harris; his great granddaughter, Anastasia; his brother, Nicholas (Sonja) Wartonick and nieces and nephews.
Prior to moving to be closer to his daughters, Bob was an active member of Sts Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, Endicott. He was a retired senior lab specialist for I.B.M. Endicott. Bob was an Army veteran and obtained the rank of Major in the Army Reserves retiring after thirty years of service. He was a member of the Endicott Elk's Lodge #1977 and the 27th Division Association and TROA.
A funeral service will be offered by Very Rev. Alexey Karlgut on Saturday at 10am, at Sts. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, 210 Hill Ave., Endicott, where the family will receive friends, from 9am until the time of the service. Burial will be in the upper section of St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Cemetery with military honors.
