Nancy M. (Kratky) Stefanski, age 78, of Johnson City, NY, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025.  Nancy was born on June 9, 1947 to the late Paul and Katherine Kratky. She was predeceased by her husband, Hon. Walter J. Stefanski.

A 1965 graduate of Johnson City High School, Nancy went on to proudly earn her degree from Broome Tech where she remained active in the Alumni Association. Over the years, she worked for the Town of Union and Village of Johnson City.  She ended her career working in the office at Vestal Hills Elementary School, where she was absolutely loved by staff, students, and parents.

Nancy was known for her selflessness and her unwavering devotion to family and friends. Her generosity of spirit and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her, leaving a legacy of love, compassion, and care.  If she wasn’t on a bus trip with her sister and friends, or on her lawnmower, Nancy was hosting her family and friends at her house and doting on her granddaughter and her friends in the pool.  

Nancy is survived by her devoted daughter Holly (Dan) Greenman; cherished, center of her world, granddaughter, Shay; loving sister, Janet (Mike) Scarinzi; dear sister-in-law Judy (Bob) Cherinko; brother-in-law Tom (Patty) Stefanski; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were like family.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Msgr. John P. Putano at St. Thomas Aquinas, 1 Aquinas St., Binghamton on Monday, November 17 at 12:00 p.m.  The family will receive friends prior to the Mass from 11:00am. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
