Michael Douglas Parks Axworthy, 74, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, following a ten-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease, with his devoted wife, Carrie and his son, Andrew, by his side.

Born on January 8, 1952, Mike was a graduate of Maine-Endwell High School and continued his education at S.U.N.Y. Canton. A gifted mechanic, he dedicated his career to his craft, working at AutoSport by Jiri, Kopcik Construction, and Gault BMW, where he ultimately achieved the distinguished rank of Master Automotive Technician.

Outside of the shop, Mike found his greatest joy from his wonderful family, grandchildren, watching the Yankees, bowling and time on the golf course, where he spent many cherished hours playing alongside his son. One of his most treasured memories was attending the Masters Tournament.

Mike was predeceased by his mother, Daphyne; his sister, Michele; and his beloved grandson, Cole Michael.

His legacy of hard work and love for his family will be carried on by his wife, Carrie; his son, Andrew (Elysia); and his grandchildren, Lincoln and Aspyn.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory to Mercy House of the Southern Tier would be greatly appreciated. Our heartfelt gratitude to UHS 3^rd floor staff and Mercy House for their compassionate care.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
