Joyce Brearley 91 passed away Sunday morning, March 22, 2026.

She is survived by her husband of seventy-two years, Robert C. Brearley, two daughters, Diane Murphy and Elaine (Jim) Petrozello, her son, Robert (Michelle) Brearley, Jr. three granddaughters, Natalie (Matt) Brubaker, Allison (Steve) Birch, and Michelle (Darin) DiPiazza, four great grandchildren, Colin and Connor Brubaker, Lauren and Rachel DiPiazza, and her former son-in-law, Bill Murphy.

Joyce loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, working in her flower and vegetable gardens, cooking and baking, doing needlework, playing the piano and travelling to Pigeon Forge, TN.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton with Monsignor John Putano officiating. Burial will be at Slovak Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Bridgewater Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Unit 3B for their excellent and compassionate care.
