Margaret A. Chervenka, 94 years, formerly of Johnson City, fell asleep in the Lord on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Sayre Health Care Center.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry S. Chervenka in 2010. She is survived by her daughter Cathy (Marcello) DePersiis, her son Mark (Jeanette) Chervenka, three grandchildren, Christina (Bill) Haven, Brian (Vanessa) DePersiis, and Henry (Kasita) Chervenka, and two great granddaughters, Adeline (Addie) and Emilia (Mila) DePersiis. For the last several years, Marge’s needs were cared for by Richard and Nancy Yadlosky.
Marge was a woman of faith who felt that if you trust in the Lord, everything will work out. She was an active member of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Church, volunteering as a church schoolteacher, working in the church hall at various activities and was a past president, secretary and treasurer for its Sunshine Club. She also enjoyed sewing, vegetable gardening and camping with her family.
She was a retired employee of U.H.S. Johnson City.
Marge was a devoted wife, taking care of Henry, and always looked out for the health and happiness of her family and friends.
A funeral service will be offered by the Very Rev. Andreja Damjanovski on Tuesday, at 11am at Dormition of the Virgin Mary Church, 54 Baxter St. Binghamton where visitation will be from 10am to 11am. Burial will be at Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions made in Marge’s memory may be made to the Dormition Church.
Arrangements are by the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, Binghamton.
