Margaret M. Bors, 71 of Johnson City passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, July 14, 2026 at the Mercy House of the Southern Tier.
She is survived by her devoted husband of forty-four years, David P. Bors, her loving daughter, Cindy Bors and her wife Julia Kirby of Melbourne, Australia; her siblings John (Freddie) Remza, Jim (Lois) Remza, Marianne (Jim) Fabrizi; her nieces and nephews Chris (Mike) Duffy, Eric Remza, Michael Remza, Amanda (Andrew) Bowen and Nick (Chelsea) Fabrizi.
She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret (Peg) and John Remza.
Marge was born on July 29, 1954 in Johnson City, New York. She was a graduate of Seton Catholic Central High School, Broome Community College and Binghamton University.
She was a loving wife and devoted mother who enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Her favorite recipes include city chicken, perogies, chicken wings, halupki, lasagna and homemade pizza. Some of Marge’s favorite activities included trips to wineries in the Finger Lakes, Broadway plays, going to concerts, family beach vacations, bicycle rides, trying her luck at Tioga Downs and visiting her daughter Cindy in Australia. Throughout her life she was known for her generosity, her love for her family and her kind and caring heart. Marge was also a lover of animals and was dedicated to the love and care of the many pets we had over the years which included our dogs, Lucy and Sugar, our cat Lil Guy and our parrot, Pickles.
Marge worked for many years as a therapy aide with Broome Developmental Center and is a retired employee in the facilities department of Binghamton University.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Wilson Hospital and Mercy House who cared for Marge with compassion and kindness during her recent illness.
A memorial service will be offered by Monsignor John P. Putano on Wednesday July 22 at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton. Calling hours will begin at 2:00pm prior to the memorial service at 3:00pm.
