Loretta A. Branick went to be with Our Lord on Saturday, July 18, 2026

She was a loving and generous person, and she will be missed by her niece, Lynda B. Matys (Lt. Col. Paul F. Matys USAF dec.); her great nieces, Alison Matys (Lyon Fisher) and Sara (Jon) Handel; and her great great nephew, Adam Fisher.

Heartfelt thanks to her compassionate caregiver Nancy, All Q Care, and her dear friends, Libby,, Justin and Jimmy that visited and provided support.

Loretta was born on June 8, 1934, on Clinton Street to the late Andrew and Anna (Simcho) Branick Sr. owners of Clinton Mattress. Her older brothers, the late Andrew Branick Jr. (Helen Holovka) and John Branick (Vivian McTavish) served in WWII.

She attended Woodrow Wilson Elementary School and Binghamton Central High School. And continued to participate in their reunions.

In 1954 she graduated cum laude from the Franklin School of Science and Art in Philadelphia, earning a degree in X-Ray and Medical Laboratory Technology with the goal of making people well.

Loretta achieved that goal working for 43 years as the Laboratory and X-Ray Department Supervisor for the Chenango Bridge Medical Center where the doctors, nurses and other medical staff treated each other like family.

She was a member of the Binghamton Business and Professional Women's Club, the New York State X-Ray Technician Society, and the American Medical Technologist Association.

Loretta was a lifelong member of Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church, singing in the church choir and serving as their business secretary, overseeing the pull tabs at weekly bingo.

She cherished her many friends and loved growing and caring for her flower garden.

From a young age, Auntie Lorrie, as she was also known, loved to plan parties. One year she invited 50 children to her birthday party and more recently she planned her 80^th and 90^th birthday parties!

Auntie Lorrie was dedicated to supporting St. Jude and visited their facilities in Memphis with her niece Lynda.

The Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. Steven Galushick on Saturday, July 25 at 10:30am at Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church, 360 Clinton Street, Binghamton where the family will receive friends from 9-10:15am.  Burial will be at the Holy Spirit Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, kindly remember Loretta's memory by making a contribution to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
