Maryanne Marko Savicky of Johnson City, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Maryanne was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. She shared 47 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband James Savicky, building a life filled with love, family, memories, and countless moments to treasure. Maryanne is predeceased by her parents George and Helen Marko, and her two brothers Richard and Robert Marko.
Her greatest joy was her family. Maryanne was the proud and loving mother of three daughters; Melissa Ghannem (Ronnie), Amy Injaian (Paul) and Julianne Savicky (Matt) and a treasured grandmother to four grandchildren that she adored Andre, Maya, Natalie, and Grayson and her grand puppies Diesel, Duchess, Zeus, Sadie, and Bruno. She embraced each of them with unconditional love, always making her family feel supported, cherished, and deeply loved.
Maryanne will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the strength she carried, and the special place she created in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Her family was the center of her world, and her presence brought warmth and comfort to those around her.
Maryanne graduated from Binghamton Central High School and the Lowell School of Business. She spent many years at BOCES in administrative and secretarial roles before leaving the workforce to raise her three daughters. Later, she returned to a career devoted to supporting children with special needs, serving both the Johnson City School District and BOCES. Through her compassion, patience, and unwavering dedication, Maryanne touched the lives of countless students and families, leaving a lasting impact on her community and the field of education. In retirement, her commitment to helping others continued through her volunteer work at the Johnson City Senior Center, where she generously gave her time and talents in service to fellow community members. She was a member of St. Michael’s Orthodox Church.
She passed surrounded by her family, just as she lived, with the people she loved most close by her side. Though she will be deeply missed, her love will continue to live on through her family and all the lives she touched.
May she rest peacefully, knowing how deeply she was loved.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 9 to 10 am at St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, 292 Clinton Street, Binghamton followed by a funeral service offered by Very Rev. Presbyter James Dutko at 10am. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
