It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Gloria Novobilski, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who died on September 10, 2026. Her family will remember her strength, her prayers and above all, her unconditional love that she showered on everyone.

Gloria was predeceased by her husband Donald in 1989, her parents, Eva and Walter Marsheski, her mother and father-in-law, Kathryn and Joseph Novobilski, in laws, Irene and Tom Novobilski, Ann and Dan Cody and John Novobilski.

She leaves with love and wonderful memories of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, David and Karen Novobilski, Joseph Novobilski and Michelle Blonsky, Jennifer and Kyle Grahame, Jessica and Alex Kuhnen, Donald and Cathy Novobilski, Michelle and Nicolas Novobilski, Paul and Paulette Novobilski, Eric Novobilski, Ryan and Melanie Novobilski, Kyle and Ariana Novobilski, Lynn Marie and Alan Goetz, Brennan and Landon Goetz, Kathleen and Matt Banks.

Her great-grandchildren include Arianna, Emma, Eli, Veronica,

Victorino, Luca, Lucy, James, and 2 more on the way, Valentino and Amelia.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Knize and sister-in-law, Carol Novobilski. She leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews living across the USA.

Gloria was a member of St. James Church and enjoyed being active in various church activities such as the Tabernacle Society, the funeral luncheon group and candy makers. She felt blessed to be an Associate of St. Joseph of Carondelet, whose spiritual inspiration kept her smiling and her faith strong.

She was a 1953 graduate of JCHS and treasured keeping in touch with friends from her school years. A very special person, Rose Klodowski, shared a lifelong friendship. Gloria was very active with her High School Reunion Committee and loved celebrating with classmates. The “Dollies,” a great group of friends, enjoyed meeting monthly for years.

Our family would like to give special thanks to the nurses, countless aides, housekeepers and personnel at Hilltop and St. Louise Manor for the love and care they gave our mother. We would also like to acknowledge Dr. Elizabeth Rosato, whose care and compassion touched mom’s heart.

Mom was the essence of love and compassion. Her comforting smile, ability to listen and never judge, selfless giving of herself through cards (and stickers!), phone calls and food always made you feel her loving presence. She had a unique way of making each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren feel valued and loved.

The family will receive friends at St. James Church, 147 Main Street, Johnson City, NY on Friday, September 18th from 9:00-11:00 am followed by Mass at 11:00 am, which will be lived streamed on Youtube@stjamesjohnsoncity8429. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY.
