Marion Hine Kaspryk, 91, fell asleep in the Lord on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.  She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, John M. and Becky Kaspryk of Davisburg, MI, James M. Kaspryk of Boston, MA; and a sister, Delores Coe of Marietta, GA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

She was predeceased by her parents and husband of 46 years, John Kaspryk. 

Marion graduated from Johnson City High School and the New York State College in Oneonta with a Master’s Degree in Home Economics.  Marion taught home economics to students in Vestal, Chenango Valley, Union Endicott schools and worked as a substitute teacher across several school districts.  Marion also served as the President of Broome County Home Economics Association.

A faithful and devoted parishioner of St. John’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, she was an active member of St. Mary’s Sisterhood and served as president for 8 years.  Marion played an instrumental role in helping to publish the Sisterhood's two volume parish cookbook, “Favorite Recipes from Our Best Cooks” which continues to be a best seller in the region.

Marion’s hobbies included cooking, baking, sewing, crossword puzzles, the NY Yankees and a love of travel, which had her going on safari in Africa, helicoptering over Victoria Falls, visiting Bali, the Pyramids of Egypt, Thailand, Hong Kong, London, Paris, Hawaii, Nevis and many other destinations. 

One thing we can all learn from Marion is how to live life positively and joyously no matter what challenges we are faced with.  Her loving smile and positive energy will be remembered by everyone.

Friends will be received at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1 St. John’s Parkway, Johnson City, from 9-10am on Monday, September 28, 2026, Rev. Father Ivan Synevskyy will celebrate a funeral service at 10am, with interment to follow at the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marion’s memory to her church.
