Harold B. Irons, 91, of Windsor formerly Endicott died Sunday, October 23, 2022 at the Susquehanna Nursing Home after a period of declining health.

He was predeceased by his wife of forty years, Joan M. (Kimbrough) Irons, his parents and four brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Kristof (Breuche) Irons; a son and daughter-in-law, David B. and Renee P. Irons of Cary, NC; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane E. and Martin C. Hammersley of Wrightsville, PA; stepsons, Thomas J. (Laurie) Kristof and Trevor H. Kristof of Jacksonville, FL and Troy R. (Carli) Kristof of Windsor; grandchildren, Alyssa M. Irons and Alex Bienkowski, Emily R. Irons, Joshua D. and Alyssa P. Irons, Danielle J. and Cody T. Mackanick and Liam P. Hammersley; step-grandchildren, Ryan Kristof, Charles Kristof, Nicholas Kristof, Luke Kristof, Kody Kristof, and Brooke Kristof; great grandchildren, Riley K. Irons and Owen B. Mackanick.

Harold served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant from 1950-55. He retired from IBM Endicott after twenty-five years of service as a chemical engineer. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He was member and Past Master of Round Hill Lodge #533 F.&A. M, Binghamton Valley Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Consistory, Kalurah Shrine A.A.O.N.M.S., and Round Hill Chapter #104 Eastern Star, where he served as Patron in 1985.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boxing, watching the Yankees play, the ocean, and taking cruises. He was affectionately known by all his grandchildren as, “Pop-Pop” and by his nieces and nephews as “Uncle Hunk”.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:30pm at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect St. Binghamton where a Masonic, Eastern Star, and prayer services with Rev. Douglas Clark will begin at 2:30pm. Burial will be on Saturday at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Mt. Jewett, PA with Pastor Calvin Cook officiating.
