Walter F. “Bud” Grabowski 75years went to be with His Lord on Friday morning, May 20, 2022 at the Mercy House of the Southern Tier surrounded by his loving family after a short bout with cancer.
He was predeceased by his parents, Walter A. and Minnie Grabowski, and his father and mother- in-law, Louis and Mary Zabadal, brother-in-law, Robert O'Hara
Bud is survived by his wife, Shirley (Zabadal) Grabowski; seven children, Kristine (Ronald) Colleluori, Nicole (Daniel) Majka, Michelle (Tim) Tumulty, Sarah (Justin) Butler, Ronald (Nikki) Chipper, Maria (John) Drumheller, and Lynette (Vaughn) Crothers; grandchildren, Kyle and Morgan Colleluori, Noah Majka, Jack and Luke Tumulty, Reagan Butler, John and Brian Chipper, Joseph, Matthew, Kathryn and Emily Drumheller, Grant and Grace Crothers; two sisters, Roseanne O'Hara and Mary Ellen (Andrew) Chervak; his brother, Mark (Kathy) Grabowski, his sister-law Ann Marie (Bill) Lenkiewicz, and many nieces and nephews.
He loved his family and was proud of his Polish/Slovak heritage. Bud enjoyed woodworking, travelling throughout the United States, tinkering with classic automobiles, especially his Corvette. He was a lover of nature, watching his birds at his home around his hummingbird feeder. Bud supported the Humane Society and loved his many pets including his beloved dog, Abby.
He graduated from SUNY at Delhi where he earned his degree in Restaurant Management. He retired from the Broome County Health Department after thirty-nine years of service where he worked in many capacities as an environmental health inspector.
Bud was a member of Church of the Holy Trinity.
A Memorial Mass will be offered by Monsignor John P. Putano on Friday at 10am at Church of the Holy Trinity, 346 Prospect St. Binghamton where the family will receive friends from 9-10am.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Bud's memory to either Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Ave. Endicott, NY 13760 or to Broome County Humane Society, 167 Conklin Ave. Binghamton, NY 13903.
