Eugene was destined to be a father and shared his love of music, carpentry, sports and outdoor activities with many children. A special thank you goes to his best friend, Robert (Big Bob) Dobransky who arranged a blind date where he met the love of his life, along with his instant family of 4 children (3 dogs, 1 cat, 4 kittens, 6 chickens and 3 bunnies) and with the addition of the baby Beth, this crew filled the house he built with hope and love. He attended every school and sporting event his children performed in or played in and gladly recalled the events with pride for many years.
After graduating from Johnson City High School, Eugene attended Fishburne Military School and played baseball. He then went on to Broome Tech to acquire an AAS in Electrical Engineering where he also played basketball. He then served in the United States Army, was awarded a Good Conduct Medal and honorably discharged. In 1965, he started his 37 year career at IBM as a Digital Encoder, Software Engineer and retired as a Manager.
Eugene was a former past president and an active member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church. He filled various Parish Council positions over the years and helped with every function or work party from pinching pirohy to grounds keeping and gold leafing the domes. For this Eugene was awarded the Testament of Blessing from Metropolitan Antony.
He was a strong Ukrainian dancer and sang in the Choir with his many dear friends. He was also a member of Ukrainian Orthodox League (U.O.L.) and the St. John's Sportsmen and Social Clubs.
