Joan Ellen O'Connor 80 of Johnson City passed away Sunday morning, April 24, 2022 after a long illness.
She was predeceased by her parents Flora J. and John Harold Thompson, her sister, Patricia A. Hadac, and daughter Terri L. Skinner.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas E. O'Connor, daughter, Ellen S. Winsor, stepson, Glenn E. O'Connor (Kim); her beloved grandchildren, Jackie Soule (Marty), Jennifer Winsor, Ashely Mehl (Jay), Trishia Skinner (Steve), Jamie McGovern (Josh); step grandchildren, Carly O'Connor and Zach O'Connor; great grandchildren, Ryan Brown, Katie McGovern, Annalie Livingston, Nathan Soule, Brandon Soule, Emma Mehl, and Olivia Mehl; nieces, Linda Gallo (Ray) and Diane Young (Pete); and nephews, George Hadac (Kathy) and John Hadac.
Joan loved spending time in the outdoors, as a child, she spent countless hours on her uncle's farm with her cousins. After marrying Tom, they always seemed to navigate to a lake, campsite or cabin for leisure time and having fun with the grandkids. She was never without a dog or stray cat that needed a home.
In keeping with Joan's wishes, private services for the immediate family will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joan's memory to her favorite charity, The Humane Society, 167 Conklin Ave. Binghamton, NY 13903.
