Dorothy Bock, 92, fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday afternoon, January 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving children.
She was predeceased by her parents Panko and Pauline Hruby, and her husband of thirty-seven years, George Bock Jr. on February 7, 1994.
She is survived by three daughters, Jo Anna (James) Naylor of Vestal; Carol (David) Goerold of Clifton Park, NY; and Barbara (Gary) Blumberg of Brookfield, CT; her son, George Stevan (Michelle) Bock of Coto de Caza, CA, grandchildren, Danielle Naylor, Joshua Naylor, Jessica Goerold, David (Kathryn) Goerold, Rachel Blumberg, and Kyler, Ryan, and Kaitlyn Bock, a great grandson, Cameron Goerold, her sister, Anne Hutnyan, many special nieces and nephews.
She was an active member of Dormition of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, singing in the choir, working in the kitchen, and taking part in many of the church functions. She was a former member of the "R" Club and St. Ann's Sisterhood. She sang with the Pan Orthodox Choir and the Downtown Singers for many years.
She loved her family, friends, socializing, gardening, cooking, baking, dancing, singing, and watching the NY Yankees.
A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30am at Dormition of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, 54 Baxter Street, Binghamton with Very Rev. Ilya Gotlinsky officiating. Burial will be at Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 3-5pm at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton where Rev. Gotlinsky will conduct a prayer service at 4pm.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory to her church or to Lourdes at Home, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
